Day 11 of 16

We started this day with leaving Carlsbad on another long driving day.  We said our good-byes to David this morning.  All the other bugs and people had left ahead of us.  It was sad to see to only see one other NB in the hotel parking lot this morning.   We will miss everyone that we saw this past weekend.  Hopefully we will be able to do this again soon.

Off to Texas we go.  After our stop for the boarder pictures, we stopped at the West of the Pecos Museum.  This was a cute little museum, all kinds of stuff from different time periods of this town, right to the present.  The most recent additional to this museum was a tribute to one of their hometown soldier's killed last year in Iraq.

Then we stopped at the seconded largest meteor crater in this country.  This was not real exciting.  Most of it has filled in over time.  So it hardly looked like much of a hole.  At least we didn't waste allot of time here.

Then we found some Tumbleweed.  Naomi really loves tumbleweed, so we had to stop and take some pictures and make the tumbleweed tumble. She would be in heaven if she actually saw some tumble across the road, something she had really hoped for in Tombstone.

Then we went to Odessa, to find the worlds largest Jackrabbit statue.  We also find found a few painted jackrabbit statues throughout the town.  Then we had lunch at Whataburger (or as Heather calls it, Waterburger).  She enjoyed her first Whataburger.

Then it was off to the Stockyards in Fort Worth.  We will be spending the next two nights at the Stockyards Hotel.  This is a really nice hotel.  Heather really seems to like antique furniture and cowboy decorations. We arrived around 10 pm, so we just got everything unpacked and went to bed.
