Smithsonian Natural History, American History, Capital Tour, Air & Space Museum, Chinatown
Naomi's feet were much better this morning, we took the subway to the Smithsonian, starting at the Hope Diamond and going through the Natural & American History museums.
After lunch, we headed to our Senator's office, Mel Martinez, for our Capital Tour. We walked through the tunnel that connects the senate offices and then took a mini-subway to the Capital building. Our tour guide took us through the capital and then we were able to get into the House Chambers for a self-guided tour.
After our Capital tour, we headed back to the Smithsonian, to the Air & Space Museum. Naomi rested while I took the kids through the museum. We saw most of it, but they would have been content playing with a single TV simulator game rather than touring the museum :(
After Air & Space, we walked to Chinatown for dinner. We were disappointed that there wasn't a real Chinatown like most major cities. In the middle of "Chinatown" was a McDonald's, Ruby Tuesday's, Starbucks, Fuddruckers and Bed, Bath and Beyond, not your regular Chinatown mainstays :( We had a Mongolia BBQ which was very good. The kids were lost, but enjoyed playing with the chop sticks. We then took the subway back to the hotel.
