Day 7 of 16
We started this day with breakfast at the Wild Rose Inn and
then spent the whole day in Tombstone. I enjoyed all the history but I wish it
wasn't so commercial and modernized. I expected dirt streets and a good old
western ghost town but got paved streets, no corral, modern headstones and a
reenactment in front of a stage instead of on the street where it belonged. We
were told that the current mayor paved the streets for the first time in 1996
and they are planned to run him out of town and revert the streets to dirt in
the near future. But it was very interesting, I enjoyed the court house,
Birdcage and the cemetery the most. The world's largest rose bush was huge.
After our day in Tombstone, we headed out to meet the R2K New Beetle western
Caravan for the night. We caught up with them around 9 pm at the hotel.
Tomorrow starts the Car Show.
