Dear Friends and Family (from Katie),
Hello! Well today we left Redding about 5:30 A.M. my dad got beat up when a semi carrying
NB's passed by. HaHa... :) I think he's starting to wish the Punch Buggy Game was never
invented. he has a bruise the size of a quarter b/c I hit him w/ my knuckles. But about an
hour and half after we left I realized that I'd left Asay (pronounced A.C.) a toy puppy at
the La Quinta. I was so upset. my daddy pulled over and we're going to have it shipped to
Montana. Asay was given to me by one of my best guy friends. so I really cherish him. I'll
see Asay in 5 days. :(...
When we went through Wolf Creek we saw this beautiful dog it was 1/2 wolf
and 1/2 dog. it was the town dog everyone paid for food, shots, etc. his name was Blue.
the truck drivers fed him beef jerky so I gave him a piece about a foot+ long. he ate
really quick . the Lady @ the General store said that he probably gets fed 100 times a day
b/c of town people, visitors, and passers by.
We met up w/ Esther (the Postal Lady married to Two Handsome Men Clayton and Ben.) at
Eugene. She was driving the infamous Oreo Magic. Then we met Judy, Rolland, and
Maggie(this adorable border Collie). She was totally styling in Paris. Judy gave my daddy
a jar of Apple Butter. And she gave me a porcelain angel holding a Dog Wood. "Dog
Woods are native to the North West and they are a collectors item. They are made in Salem
which we will pass through. ", she informed me ever so politely. She also made them
herself. I wasn't expecting anything. so to me that was really sweet of her to do that.
and after I left Asay in Redding, it meant a lot more to me b/c she took time get
something special for me. I don't know if I told her thank you.
So Judy if your Reading this THANK YOU :) :o XOXO!!!
From Mitch:
The VW event was great, the drag races were fun, the cars were great. I liked the humbug
and the 55 OB with the flag type side markers. After the show, we caravaned up to Seattle
with Dick Gue and he showed us around Seattle. Thanks a bunch. The Oregon & Washington
buggers were great, like family. Need for sleep, so I won't write much today.
